I ran my first marathon in 2010 at the Chicago Marathon. I absolutely hated it. I hated the training and I didn’t understand why it was so difficult even though I was a competitive runner in high school and fairly fit in college. I was a personal trainer yet I still felt completely lost. When I got finished with the race, I wrote a list of the 15 reasons why I would never run another marathon.
As a coach, it’s my job to help runners achieve their goals but more importantly to be lifelong and injury free runners. I help runners set realistic goals and chase down the ones that may not be as realistic. We don’t ultimately know our maximum potential is, but I hope to help reach as close to that as possible. A lot of what I do is watch and listen.
